Revolutionising Mental Fitness at Work: Therapy Alone isn’t Enough

I have immense respect for therapists and clinical psychologists.
Throughout my life, I've worked with three. Two were incredibly helpful, while the third wasn’t quite the right fit.
What I've observed—both in my own mental health journey and in others'—is that traditional therapy, while absolutely valuable if you find the right person, can take years to uncover and heal deep-rooted issues.
Often, it lacks a holistic approach, which is essential for true healing and creating sustainable shifts that support us to manage stress and unlock our potential. While therapy provided some relief, it wasn’t until I took matters into my own hands and addressed my well-being holistically that I experienced real progress.
Trauma expert Dr. Paul Conti believes the majority of people have experienced some form of trauma, and much of our internal struggles stem from neglecting this trauma. Left unaddressed, these issues don’t just affect our health—they also understandably limit our potential.
For many of us, if left unaddressed, the following things are holding us back at best and leading to sickness at worst:
Unresolved trauma and the related limited subconscious identities and stories
Stuck emotions that impact physical health
Gut health and inflammation
Hormonal imbalances
Sleep issues
A lack of knowledge around our nervous system
Not developing self compassion
Not having a meaningful stress management practice
Not trusting, loving, respecting or accepting ourselves
Living from a lack or scarcity mindset
Many people I know have been in therapy for years, yet still struggle with the same fundamental core limiting beliefs, patterns and struggle to make significant change.
Don’t get me wrong. That is not to say that they’re not making progress and the experience isn’t benefiting them. In my case, I learned valuable things. What I am saying is that despite seeing a variety of therapists, I never addressed the deeper core wounds in a meaningful way, my dysregulated nervous system and hormonal imbalances that needed to be addressed and were keeping me more stressed than necessary and eventually led to my burnout.
The status quo isn’t working. Most of us can benefit from therapy at some point if we can afford it AND greater support and education around key areas for mental and physical health and soft skills that are all related.
How can we lead ourselves and others effectively when we're caught in the habit of people-pleasing and haven't yet learned to set healthy boundaries?
How can we produce our best work when we constantly seek external validation and haven’t yet learned to validate and support ourselves from within?
How can we take up space and allow ourselves to be more visible when we don’t feel safe being seen or heard?
How can we tap into creativity, intuition, or solve problems effectively when we're stuck in fight-or-flight mode, always scanning for potential threats instead of feeling grounded and open?
We all hold different patterns, beliefs and programming that are holding us back. We simply need to learn a new way and feel resourced to show up as our best, most focused selves who knows deep down how worthy, good enough and capable they are.
This is why I created Wondersource—to fill that gap and offer a more comprehensive path to mental and physical health and success.
