In my mid 60s I was not open to coaching and “changing” who I was. I was frustrated with someone thinking I should react in a different way, after all I made it this far in life and I was just fine. I was, however, getting tired of the attitude and arguing with my director for whom I had worked for more than 20 years. I didn’t really see how MY changing was going to affect the outcomes because after all, she was still herself, she wasn’t going to change. I approached this coaching experience apprehensively but immediately Laura put me at ease with her methods and approach. She helped me identify my own authentic style and helped me change my mindset about leadership. She didn’t try to “change me” – she helped me grow into who I was always supposed to be. Coaching hasn’t changed who I am, it has helped me adjust how I approach issues with others.
