Breast Health and Prevention

Prevention plays a pivotal role in our health, well-being, and success. By incorporating tools from mental fitness and holistic health practices, we can create a comprehensive approach to breast health and prevention that benefits everyone, including employees.

At Wondersource, we believe that a holistic and preventative approach to health is essential for everyone, regardless of their background or family history. Because while today a woman in her 30s faces higher odds of a cancer diagnosis than her grandmother did at her age two generations ago, rates are rising amongst Millenials and Gen X and cancer can feel incredibly scary, there’s a lot we can do to support ourselves. It’s important not to bury our heads in the sand. According to American Cancer Society (ACS) researchers, nearly half of newly diagnosed cancers in the U.S. (42 percent) are avoidable with a combination of prevention measures, like eating a healthy diet, maintaining a healthy body weight and more.

This blog post aims to provide valuable tips and tools to help women take a proactive stance on their health, emphasizing the importance of both physical and mental well-being in maintaining breast and overall health. No matter where you are on your health journey, it's never too late to start embracing even more healthy, empowering behaviors, beliefs and tools. Remember to be gentle, kind, and forgiving with yourself. Make it a daily practice to release any self-judgment, and know that you are absolutely deserving of health, healing, and happiness.

Understanding Breast Health

Breast health encompasses more than just the absence of disease; it includes regular self-examinations, awareness of changes, and preventative measures. Early detection through regular screenings like mammograms is vital, but proactive steps to maintain overall health can also significantly impact breast health.

These Lifestyle Modifications May Reduce Breast Cancer Rick

According to Professor Mokbel MBBS MS FRCS, the chair of breast cancer surgery and the multidisciplinary breast cancer program at the London Breast Institute of the Princess Grace Hospital, these lifestyle modifications will play a role in our overall good health and emerging research suggests they may also reduce the risk of breast cancer.

  • 🥑 DIET AND NUTRITION

    • Adopt a Mediterranean diet: focus on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts and olive oil, leafy greens, berries, nuts, fatty fish, garlic, and mushrooms.

    • Limit Unhealthy foods: minimise red meat, processed meat, refined grains, animal fat, full-fat dairy products, sugar, artificial sweeteners. Use honey as a natural sweetener and moderate soy consumption.

    • Antioxidants and Fasting: Incorporate dark chocolate (above 85%), black and green tea, and consider intermittent fasting from 7pm to 7am.

  • ☀️ LIFESTYLE AND HABITS

    • Manage Your Stress: Whether it’s meditation, yoga, tapping, breath work or walks in nature, find what works for you and stick with it.

    • Sun Exposure and Vitamin D: Spend 20 minutes in natural sunlight daily.

    • Limit alcohol: Keep consumption to a maximum of one glass of wine per day.

    • Exercise Regularly: Maintain a healthy body weight and engage in at least 20 minutes of daily exercise, including walking and weight training.

  • 💊 SUPPLEMENTS

    • Vitamin D3 K2: Consider taking 1,000 international units daily

    • Omega-3: Take 1-2 grams daily

    • Vitamin B6: 5mg

    • Beta-carotene 600 mcg daily

  • 🩻 BREAST CANCER SCREENING

    • Early Assessment: All women should have a breast cancer assessment by age 30 to identify higher risk individuals who may need additional screening.

    • Regular Screenings: For women at average risk, annual mammograms (preferably 3D) starting at age 40 are recommended. High-risk women may need more frequent and earlier screenings, including both mammograms and MRIs.

Holistic Health Practices

Emotional well-being is intrinsically linked to physical health. Techniques from "The Secret Language of Your Body" by Inna Segal emphasize the connection between emotional stresses and physical health. Segal suggests that our bodies speak through physical symptoms. Here are some ways to connect with this understanding:

  • Emotional Awareness: Regularly assess your emotional state and seek support when needed. Address feelings of inadequacy, overburden, or neglect, which can manifest physically. Release judgement of yourself and others. You are so worthy of good health, love, happiness and healing.

  • Self-Love Practices: Commit to being gentle and loving with yourself. Forgive yourself regularly. Cheer yourself on. Tell yourself how beautiful, valuable and worthy you are daily. Stand in front of a mirror and focus on your breasts with appreciation. Let go of all criticism, replacing it with love and appreciation. Focus on what you love about your breasts. List them out lout to yourself. Visualise releasing any density, negative energy, or hurt. Imagine your breasts healthy and vibrant.

  • Prioritise your Joy and Feeling Good: There is nothing as healing as laughter. Do things you enjoy and that fill your heart with love and joy every day.

  • Send Healing Energy: Cup your breasts in your hands and focus on sending them green, healing rejuvenating light.

  • Prayer:

    • “Divine Healing Intelligence, I ask you to help release hardness, disappointment, disconnection from my own needs, feelings of rejection, tiredness, loss and victimhood from my breasts, as well as app points of view, all patterns, and the positive and negative charges that contribute to this condition.” Repeat the word CLEAR until it feels like a shift has occurred.

    • “Divine Healing Intelligence, please help me love, nurture, and listen to myself. Help me to have a balanced outlook on life, increase my inner power and allow me the freedom to be myself. Thank you.”

    • “Divine Healing Intelligence, please heal and regenerate my breasts and all related organs to their maximum healh, vitality and wellbeing. Thank you.”

Integrating Wellness Practices into Daily Life

Choose to show up for yourself and commit to setting boundaries that honour your well-being and dreams and stay disciplined while you prioritise you. You can’t pour from an empty cup and prioritising your needs will allow you to show up as your highest self and lead the way for others to take care of themselves too.

Engage in self-care routines that prioritise your mental and physical health. Simple practices like spending time in nature, practicing self-compassion, ensuring adequate sleep, and engaging in activities that bring joy can enhance overall well-being and prevent disease.

By addressing emotional well-being, diet, lifestyle, and self-care, we create a proactive approach to maintaining healthy breasts and overall wellness. This holistic perspective not only supports breast health but also contributes to a richer, more fulfilling life.
